From Compliance to Engagement: uSafeUS® Is Reimagining Prevention Education
Creating engaging education for students and employees is essential to helping prevent and address uncomfortable, unsafe, and harmful situations in college settings. When students and employees have the knowledge to recognize and the skills to safely act when they witness incidents of sexual misconduct, harassment, and other Title IX violations, they are empowered to seek support for themselves or a friend and report concerns. Further, it helps to foster empathic and polite interactions, creating respectful learning and work environments.
At uSafeUS, we know traditional Title IX and harassment trainings have a reputation for being long, repetitive, and easy to tune out. Learners often press “play” and let a training run in the background, thereby missing critical information. That’s why the uSafeUS Team has taken a different approach.
Our team believes that effective learning should be concise, relevant, and interactive. With that in mind, we’ve developed a series of training modules to help students and employees learn about sexual misconduct and Title IX policy, harassment and drug and alcohol misuse. The short, interactive, scenario-based modules let students apply their learning to realistic situations informed by their peers.
The development of the uSafeUS training modules has been guided by feedback from students and campus professionals. By listening to the people who use our platform, we’ve refined how we present important information, so it is comprehensive yet easy to understand and retain, and empowers users to take meaningful action.
To maximize convenience the training modules are included within the uSafeUS app. Learners can seamlessly access trainings while also connecting to campus-specific resources that reinforce what they’ve learned and provide support when needed. By bringing education and resources together in one place, uSafeUS helps campuses create safer, more informed communities.
