• uSafeUS is a campus safety and wellness app that helps students navigate college life with confidence. It connects students to essential campus and community resources, offering answers and options for a wide range of topics — from mental health and academic support to social life and personal safety.

Designed for everyday use, uSafeUS includes cutting-edge prevention tools, discreet safety features, and quick access to support — all in one place. Whether students are looking for help, information, or just a way to check in with friends, uSafeUS is there to support their well-being and success throughout their college journey.

  • uSafeUS is designed for students, but it’s also a valuable resource for faculty, staff, friends, allies, and parents/guardians who want to support student well-being and success.

  • Yes. When a college licenses uSafeUS, the app becomes free for students, faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and local business owners. The license also provides administrators with a customizable dashboard, monthly engagement materials, and digital content for outreach.

  • Yes. uSafeUS is built with privacy in mind. It collects no identifying data, and usage is anonymous.

  • Time to Leave™ – Sends a fake call or text to help students exit uncomfortable situations.
Expect Me™ – Temporarily shares a student’s location with up to six trusted contacts.
Angel Drink – Allows students to discreetly signal a bartender or bystander for help using a coded drink name or map.
Support Resources – Quick access to campus, local, and national support services.
Guides – Practical information for students, friends, and bystanders on a variety of topics.

  • It sends a realistic fake call or text to a student’s phone, giving them a socially acceptable reason to leave a situation that feels unsafe or uncomfortable.

  • When a user taps on a contact’s phone number, a call initiation prompt appears with the choice to confirm or cancel the call. The student is in control.

  • Students can use the uSafeUS What Next section to access options for next steps or the Find Help section to connect with campus, local, and national resources, including counseling, medical care, and reporting options.

  • No, but uSafeUS does connect students directly to local law enforcement and campus security. In an emergency, students should always call 911. uSafeUS is a prevention and support tool — not a substitute for emergency response.

  • When students open uSafeUS, they’ll be prompted to select their school. If their institution is successfully found, their school is partnered with uSafeUS.

  • Reach out to the uSafeUS team at contact@uSafeUS.org to learn more about licensing, onboarding, and pricing.

  • Yes, but ONLY temporarily when a student purposefully activates the Expect Me™ feature.

When configuring the Expect Me feature, students choose to temporarily share their Global Positioning System (GPS) location with trusted friends. If they do, their GPS location is temporarily stored on our servers and is shared with those trusted friends. When the student deactivates the Expect Me feature (arrives safely), GPS location sharing will stop, and all stored location data is deleted. If the Expect Me feature is not deactivated before the timer expires (the student didn’t signal they arrived safely), GPS location sharing will stop but the stored GPS location data will remain in our servers for up to 120 hours (for use by law enforcement ONLY) and then deleted.

  • No. uSafeUS is discreet and completely anonymous. Nothing is shared and nobody is notified unless it’s done purposefully by the student.

  • uSafeUS equips students with tools to recognize and exit unsafe situations, connect with trusted contacts and resources, and access support. It also includes resources for friends and bystanders, encouraging a community centered approach to safety.
