  • uSafeUS is designed for students, but it’s also a valuable resource for faculty, staff, friends, allies, and parents/guardians who want to support student well-being and success.

  • Yes. When a college licenses uSafeUS, the app becomes free for students, faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and local business owners. The license also provides administrators with a customizable dashboard, monthly engagement materials, and digital content for outreach.

  • Yes. uSafeUS is built with privacy in mind. It collects no identifying data, and usage is anonymous.

  • - Time to Leave™ – Sends a fake call or text to help students exit uncomfortable situations.
    - Expect Me™ – Temporarily shares a student’s location with up to six trusted contacts.
    - Angel Drink – Allows students to discreetly signal a bartender or bystander for help using a coded drink name or map.
    - Support Resources – Quick access to campus, local, and national support services.
    - Guides – Practical information for students, friends, and bystanders on a variety of topics.

  • It sends a realistic fake call or text to a student’s phone, giving them a socially acceptable reason to leave a situation that feels unsafe or uncomfortable.

  • When a user taps on a contact’s phone number, a screen appears with the choice to place that call or cancel the call. The student is in control.

  • Students can use the app’s What Next section to access options for next steps or the Find Help section to connect with campus, local, and national resources, including counseling, medical care, and reporting options.

  • No, but uSafeUS does connect students directly to local law enforcement and campus security. In an emergency, students should always call 911. uSafeUS is a prevention and support tool — not a substitute for emergency response.

  • When students open the app, they’ll be prompted to select their school. If their institution is successfully found, their school is partnered with uSafeUS.
