Orientation Just Got Easier: Meet the Enhanced uSafeUS® Scavenger Hunt
Although it’s graduation season now, the uSafeUS team knows campus administrators, resident life staff, and student leaders are already turning their attention toward Fall 2026 Orientation. We are ready to support administrators and students through orientation with the engaging uSafeUS Scavenger Hunt, equipping incoming students with the tools they need to safely navigate campus life. The uSafeUS Scavenger Hunt is a hands-on experience that provides students with the skills to quickly find and use critical safety and wellness resources in real-life situations.
uSafeUS knows orientation schedules are packed, so the scavenger hunt is designed to be simple, quick, and effective. The uSafeUS Scavenger Hunt prompts students to explore the app’s interactive features, on- and off-campus resources, and answers to FAQs. Instead of reading a manual, students see how the app works in real life.
For instance, students will tackle situations like: “You’re at a party and want to leave without making it obvious. Which uSafeUS feature could you use?”. Students will look for the answer in the uSafeUS app, identify the Time to Leave™ tool, and practice sending themselves a discreet, customized text to exit a situation safely.
To ensure implementation is a breeze, we developed two versions of the scavenger hunt guide—one for new students or residents and one for facilitators. Whether you’re a campus administrator, residence life staff member, or orientation leader, the uSafeUS Scavenger Hunt should be one of the easiest, yet most impactful, parts of your orientation. We’ve also included pro-tips and strategies to help facilitators ensure students understand exactly how, when, and why to use the uSafeUS app.
Our goal is to ensure every student leaves the scavenger hunt prepared to use uSafeUS—for themselves or to help a friend. Whether a student needs to find support, get help, or just get out of an uncomfortable situation, they’ll have the tools, skills and resources they need to navigate campus life with confidence.
